The word motion is contained in the word Emotion.
Emotions move us and our emotions move others. Sometimes they draw us together, sometimes they push us apart.
It is good to know our emotions. They teach us about ourselves — our wants, our needs, our desires.
Sometimes they feel great, other times they are so painful we want to tamp them down or run away.
Emotions must move through us, in order to complete.
One great way to move your emotions is through singing. That’s what Italian opera is all about!
Singing vibrates the body and releases emotional energy.
When I was a college student, I used to play my guitar and sing folksongs whenever I felt confused or disappointment. Singing always made me feel better.
You don’t need a guitar. Try an old show tune and simply change the word to fit your situation. Or you could create your own melody. Many popular songs began as remedies to a broken heart. Maybe your own melody will become a hit.
Try singing at home, in your car or on a walk in the forest or around a lake. Don’t be shy. Let your voice rival Pavarotti or Maria Callas.
The sound vibration in your body will help to release tension while freeing the words looping in your thoughts.
Let me know how this works for you.

Allowing feelings to flow in a safe and harmless way is the key to emotional mastery. Let go.
